How
to shoot a good score on #2 hole.
The second hole is a very short par 5; however, it is a very narrow hole and can jump up
and get you. The key to shooting a good score is to stay away from any big numbers early
in the round so you can build confidence as you get loose. Again I would just hit a club
you are confident with to keep it in play such as a 3-wood or a 5-wood. I would also try
to keep it on the right side of the fairway because we have out of bounds on the left. You
can miss it 100 yards right and still be able to get the ball back in play with your
second shot. Well, you overcompensated but you are just in the right woods. Your second
shot just needs to get down there around a 100 yards from the green and again I would
favor the right side because of the OB on the left and also this is a better angle into
the green since it is shaped from front right to back left. Good shot, you are back in the
fairway about 120 yards short. Your third shot is crucial here. You do not want to be left
or long otherwise the big number will appear. Take a club that will land the ball on the
front middle of the green even if the pin is not anywhere around there. Good shot you have
about a thirty foot putt for birdie. Now pick out your line and really concentrate on
hitting your putt at the right speed so it will nestle up there within a couple feet of
the hole. Good putt and you tapped it in there for an easy par. Well it is not the best
start you ever had in career but we played two narrow holes and now go to the par 4 third
hole at 1 over par. |
