How
to shoot a good score on #6 Hole.
The sixth hole is a medium length par 5 that turns you to the shores of Lake Fork. Be
careful on this hole because the beauty of the lake and golf course can lull you to
sleep and the wind will affect your shots a little bit more now that we are out of
the trees. This hole plays a lot longer than it says because the prevailing wind is right
in your face. Off the tee I suggest aiming down the right side of the fairway to keep Lake
Fork out of play. This is a three shot hole that forces you to lay up to the 150 yard
marker, so hitting a driver here might not be a good choice because you could hit it
through the fairway if you are aiming out to the right. I suggest taking a club that will
keep you short of the right woods. The second shot appears shorter than it really is;
TRUST THE YARDAGE! Find a sprinkler, find out the yardage to the green and subtract 130
yards. This is the yardage you need to use to hit your second shot. You will feel like
this is too much club but like I said trust the yardage. Good shot you pulled it a little
but we have a 120 yards left just short of the finger that juts across the fairway. Your
third shot is more uphill than it seems, so make sure you take an extra club to get the
ball to the pin. All right you hit it on the back portion of the green and have a 30
footer for birdie. Well played! Remember think about the speed of your putt and you are
going a little down hill. Line it up and try to control the distance. I scared you and you
left it 18 inches short right in the heart. Not bad, tap it in for your par. |
